How We Work

Whether you live down the street or across the international date line, we’ll work with you to create your own custom modern jewelry.

The Steps

Consultation

Claudia offers a free consultation to understand your vision. This starts with a conversation intended to reveal the deepest meaning behind the piece you’d like made. Her goal is to interweave your personal experiences and intentions into a work of art that embodies and celebrates who you are.

Inspiration

If the match feels like a good fit, Claudia will ask you to share with her any visual inspirations you have to get a sense of your style, including photos, sketches, pinboards, or doodles on a napkin.

The First Appointment

Connection and conversation are vital to the creative process. In person at the studio, via phone, or email (as a last resort), Claudia will walk you through style, scale, shapes, preferences, and the important details for your custom piece, including budget, timing, stone preferences, materials, and ethical sourcing.

Sketches & Renderings

Claudia then sketches several options that explore various aspects and details of the design for your approval. This is a collaborative and fluid process that allows us to further develop the ideas. Based on your final preferences, we will provide you with an accurate quote.

The Fine Print (our contract)

Once you approve the quote, we’ll send you a contract with our terms, conditions, and the estimated production time for you to sign. Lead times vary depending on project scope, but typically take 4-8 weeks for a custom design.

Deposit & Payments

We require a 50% deposit to begin work on your custom piece. The balance is due upon completion of the project. Payment for the main gemstones or diamonds we source for you must be paid upon selection and will be billed separately from the design quote. Once the deposit (and gemstone payment, if relevant) is received, we get to work.

Modeling, Approvals & Fabrication

First we create a model via hand carved hard wax, computer rendering, or metal to review the design together. We will either send you photos or videos of the models, or, if you’re local, you can see the model in person. If needed, we make adjustments to the model until it’s perfect. Once you approve the model, we put the piece into production, hand-fabricating the design, setting the stones, and applying the final polish or texture.

Final Payment

We will notify you upon completion of your piece, at which time the balance will be due before any delivery and shipment is made. Once payment is received, we make delivery arrangements.

Special Delivery!

This is the fun part! There’s nothing like holding your custom design in your hands. You can pick it up in person or various options are available for shipping, which include insurance and require a signature upon receipt.
