Rocks, Sky, & Sea

Living on the coast of California, I’ve been lucky to have an intimate understanding of where the Pacific Ocean meets the land, but nothing prepared me for how deeply I would be inspired by my recent visit to Hawaii. 

Every morning it was glorious waking to the sound of pounding waves. Every evening it was breathtaking to witness the sun set into the expansive view. I could not take my eyes off the changing landscape, the water sparkling like diamonds, the palms bending to the breeze. It was calming being enveloped by elements so rugged and wild as the wind and the crashing waves. Their power enlivened my senses. 

Magical.

The colors I found in Hawaii spoke to my soul and flowed into my creative space. The dark lava rocks stood in stunning contrast against the lush green of mountains and the bright azure of sea and sky. They made an imprint that I’ll carry with me until the next time.

It was hard to leave. For now, I’ll treasure the great spirit of Hawaii and let it run through me into my design work.
