The Enduring Power of Love
June is Alzheimer’s Awareness month and as Father’s Day approaches, I think about the enduring power of love – particularly how we can express love without words, with our mere presence. A tender squeeze on the arm, some quiet time spent together, sustained eye contact, or a selfless act of service. So much can be expressed without ever uttering a word.
My life has given me the opportunity to practice loving presence in these ways and it has shown me how we can express love without limits.
Our relationships evolve as we go through life. And though not always easy, watching our loved ones change asks us to also adapt. It gives us the chance to show up and learn from the power of witnessing. It proves over and over that love reigns supreme, that love bears all things.
May you be inspired to find your own ways of expressing love for the fathers in your life.
May we be lucky enough to give freely of our hearts. And may we one day know the gift of being tended to with loving compassion.
