Ways of Seeing

This week I have noticed the trees coming back. Spring is on its way. Soon the time will change an hour forward and the days will get longer. These once-barren branches, stripped to their bones for Winter, are already sprouting tiny leaves, the buds of green fruit, and the promise of an explosion of color in the cherry blossoms. It fascinates me that these trees can look so different depending on when I see them and from what angle – that they transform through these cycles and appear like new again and again, and still again

There’s an exchange, I realize as I look up at one of the trees I often stop to greet on my walk – a dance of seeing and being seen. A part of my daily surroundings, this tree reveals itself to me like a friend, offering me another opportunity for connection.

May this Spring spark your curiosity about how you are growing, and may it enliven for you the spirit of rebirth, inspiring you with new ways of seeing and being seen.
